Fun Ways to Keep your Pets Cool this Summer

Tips & Tricks

It’s heating up here in Aus and boy are we are feelin’ it! That means our furry friends are too. It’s important to keep them cool while also allowing them to have fun and use some pent up energy. Here are some of our favourite mentally simulating ways to keep your pets cool this summer.

Ways to keep your pets cool …

Frozen Treats

Create a tasty broth for your pet and freeze it into ice cubes or icy poles. Your pet will love the refreshing coolness and tasty flavour. Alternatively, you can create a sweeter treat by blending berries and yogurt and freezing them.

Freeze Toys

Freeze your pets favorite toys in a shallow bowl of water. Your pet will feel the cooling effect as the ice melts. As the toy melts, your pet can use their brain power to work out how to get to their toy quicker for a fun and engaging playtime. We recommend using older plush toys that are on their last legs!

Ice Cubes in Water Bowl

Cool your pet down by keeping the water they drink cool. Add a couple of ice cubes to their water on hot days to help cool their body temperature.

Wet towels

You can use a wet towel to keep your pet cool and create a fun bonding experience. Simply wet a towel and wring it out so it’s just damp. Stroke your pet with the towel to cool down their fur and give them a groom. Your pet will feel cool and refreshed!

Ways to keep your dogs cool

Sprinkler Fun

Who didn’t love to run through the sprinkler as a kid?! Set up your sprinkler and let your pooch have some fun. Sprinklers are a great way to keep your dog cool while also burning off some energy. Plus, you can join them and keep yourself cool while you’re at it.

Paddle Pools

Paddle pools are a fun way to entertain your furry friend and keep them cool this summer! We love a classic shell pool to give them a cool place to relax and splash. Or you can use a kiddie pool to give them extra room to splash around.

Remember to always be water safe.
